Ways to cast your ballot
In person, Election Day
Polls are open 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Central Time in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. Indiana requires photo ID at the polls. Check your assigned polling location before you go, Indiana uses vote centers in many counties, so it may not be the same site as past elections.
Early voting ("in-person absentee")
Runs October 6 through noon on November 2, 2026. No excuse is required. Hours, locations, and Saturday availability vary by county, check your county clerk's office for the nearest site.
Absentee / mail ballot
Indiana requires an approved excuse to vote by mail (travel, illness, disability, work schedule, and several other categories qualify). Request a ballot by October 22, 2026, and return it by 6 PM on Election Day.
Voter registration
Confirm you're registered at your current address before October 5, 2026. Indiana does not offer same-day registration.
